The simply existence of a regulatory environment does not put downward pressure on the workforce for a firm. It's so clearly a lie by omission that everyone should ask why their employees would no longer be profitable in a regulated environment.

So their statement is that the US government is overreaching in regulatory requirements and their response is to lay off 20% of the workforce. That sounds like a plan typical of the brainpower behind the crypto industry.
