La police a tiré sur un homme qui semblait armé, dans la nuit de vendredi à samedi, à Eernegem (une section de la commune d’Ichtegem), en Flandre occidentale. Les agents avaient été appelés à intervenir vers 04h00 du matin à la suite d’un conflit dans une habitation, selon une information de Het Laatste Nieuws, confirmée par le bourgmestre d’Ichtegem, Lieven Cobbaert.

Lorsque la police est arrivée sur les lieux, l’homme semblait armé, a indiqué le bourgmestre. On ignore encore de quel type d’arme il s’agissait.

Selon le bourgmestre, la police a tiré par légitime défense. L’individu a été blessé, mais ses jours ne sont pas en danger. Il a été placé sous surveillance à l’hôpital.

Le parquet a ouvert une enquête, mais n’a pas dévoilé davantage de détail.
