Opinion Unreliable billionaire Elon Musk appears adamant that his cage fight with rival social media mogul Mark Zuckerberg will actually go ahead.

Yet buried within the replies of a Twitter... sorry, "𝕏" thread, the [1]notorious flake hid another get-out clause.

Talking up what he called [2]"immersive video" features on the really not quite "everything app," Musk went on to claim that his supposed bout with Zuck would be " [3]live-streamed on 𝕏 " with proceeds going to "charity for veterans."

In the same string of ponderous quips, he added that he doesn't "have time to work out" so he brings weights to the office. "Am lifting weights throughout the day, preparing for the fight," [5]he insisted .

Meanwhile, in the ghost town of Threads, Mark Zuckerberg's recently launched Twitter competitor, the Meta boss [8]responded : "I'm ready today. I suggested Aug 26 when he first challenged, but he hasn't confirmed. Not holding my breath."

Zuck has plenty of reason for skepticism. For one, Musk has enough money to say whatever he wants without fear of consequences, which [9]he does , [10]often . Case in point: the giant 𝕏 erected on top the company's San Francisco headquarters at the end of July was deemed illegal by the city, which issued a $4,447 fine in response. It wasn't a good day for Musk brain farts as a whole. As we [19]reported earlier today, in another [20]tweet , he claimed: "If you were unfairly treated by your employer due to posting or liking something on this platform, we will fund your legal bill. No limit. Please let us know."

The apparent irony of this statement is pretty clear if you've been following the ongoing meltdown of Twitter from household name to 4chan analog. X Corp, as the holding company is now known, has been fighting several lawsuits in which it is alleged it either cannot or will not pay its bills, [21]rent or [22]consultants .

Musk also congratulated Activision Blizzard on the recent release of [23]Diablo IV , in which he claims to play a "Werebear lightning storm druid." As he is head of both Tesla and SpaceX, as well as the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, gamers might then question why he doesn't have time to train if he does have time for a nearly 30-year-old dungeon crawling video game franchise.
