The Chrome titan's campuses around northern California and other parts of America are preparing for staff to return to their campus desks and couches.
It's expected that most workers will be in three days a week, and will work remotely the other two days. Some Googlers may need to be on-site for longer each week, depending on their role.

Bosses are scheduling 15-minute virtual meetings in which people can drop-in and chat to counselors if they need more assistance with returning to their corporate floors, and can ask for more time to work from home if necessary.

"It's been a long and challenging two years since the vast majority of our people started working from home," John Casey, Google's VP of global benefits told employees in an email, [4]obtained by CNBC.
"But the advances in prevention and treatment, the steady decline in cases that we continue to see, and the improved safety measures we have implemented across our Bay Area sites now mean we can officially begin the transition to the hybrid work week."

Like many other tech companies, Google has tried to end its work-from-home rule put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic a few times already. Previous attempts have been thwarted by new coronavirus variants and a rise in infections. As the latest Omicron surge dies down in most parts of the world, the Chocolate Factory is trying to bring its employees back to its campuses again.
It [8]dropped its controversial vaccine mandate, for example, which required all workers to be fully vaccinated in order to come into the office and work with their colleagues. Google is also relaxing rules around wearing masks and social distancing. We understand previous perks, such as massage services for workers, are coming back, too.

What I learned from the Pandemic
Is half the population here in the US would facilitate a bioweapon attack on the US by refusing to follow common sense public health policies due to an inane concept of freedom. I guess it's really true that freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose.

That was only the excuse cynically used by the politicians. A big portion of the mob were lunatics convinced masks will kill you, and vaccines include mind control microchips.
If you want to save democratic countries, invest more in free public education.
Real-estate correction
Remember hearing about those record real estate prices outside the cities? Get ready for a crash.
Those who unload their homes first might turn a small profit, many will break-even (but find the record high real estate prices in the cities making them feel poor, anyhow). but a great many will lose a considerable amount of cash try to unload their retreat homes in a falling market.
I'm wouldn't mind a repeat of 2008... I didn't have enough cash on hand to pick up any of those houses going for "new car" prices (which all tripled in value after just a few years).
It'll be interesting to see what happens when somebody has a sneezing fit in the office.
Dear Google
I'm not working from home: being retired, I'm not working at all.
Can I have a massage please?
