A week is a schlong time in politics – just ask Bernalillo County Sheriff, Manuel Gonzales III, who may be primed to face heckling at political rallies but handling a flying dildo is a different matter.

Earlier this week he was addressing a crowd of voters in his bid to run for mayor of Albuquerque when a drone carrying a dildo interrupted his Q&A session.

A video posted on Facebook shows the incident unfold. A voice in the crowd is heard to say: “Is that a dong on a drone?”

Closer inspection of the video shows that the small craft and its cargo was then grabbed firmly before a small scuffle ensued.

It’s not known what make of drone – or brand of sex toy – was used in the stunt.

According to multiple reports including AP , a 20-year-old-man has been charged with “petty misdemeanour battery and misdemeanour resisting, evading or obstructing an officer”.

Of course, political stunts are nothing new – even ones involving simulated body parts. In 2008, a press conference in Russia was interrupted when a [9]small flying todger buzzed around a conference hall. It’s understood no one was hurt in the incident.
