DNS issue impacting multiple Microsoft services - Recovery in progress
SUMMARY OF IMPACT: Starting at approximately 21:30 UTC on 01 Apr 2021, customers may experience intermittent issues accessing Microsoft services, including Azure, Dynamics, and Xbox Live.
CURRENT STATUS: Microsoft rerouted traffic to our resilient DNS capabilities and are seeing improvement in service availability. We are continuing to investigate the cause of the DNS issue.

The outage has hit Azure cloud's network infrastructure in North and South America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa, though Azure's government cloud and its services in China are unaffected.

25 years after...
...I decided the I would never again willfully deploy a Microsoft branded DNS server this stuff is still happening. Good job Microsoft! You are still such so influential that systemd's resolved is following in your footsteps!
It's one thing to reinvent the wheel but it takes a special kind of idiot to reinvent the cube and call it a wheel.
Tell me again...
The advantages of Cloud Computing are?
Re: Tell me again...
None of this new fangled Distributed Name Server stuff for me - I keep a list of sites I want to visit locally.
I update it once a year when my copy of the whole internet guide is delivered
Re: Tell me again...
Hands up if "don't google Google" came to mind after reading the above post. (apt, since many El Reg longtimers probably ARE The Elders of the Internet)
It's *always* DNS.
