You can’t leave digital evolution to API accident – you need an API strategy

(2021/03/15)

Webcast It’s almost a cliché to say that in the past 12 months we’ve seen technological transitions that should have taken years happen in a few weeks, whether it’s a shift to remote working or the embrace of the cloud.

Many organisations have decided they rather like this brisker pace of development and want to stick with it. Others will look at the competition and realize that if they want to keep up, there’s no going back to the old ways. The rest? Well, we may not have to worry about them for much longer.

So, how do you ensure that your organization can keep pace in this new world? By realizing that APIs are at the centre of the technology approaches that allow companies to exploit the benefits of automation, or embrace hybrid cloud, or exploit low code approaches to allow line of business staffers to develop their own applications.

That’s why developing an API strategy has to be part of your digital evolution blueprint.

This may be a lot to take in, but you can get a head start by tuning in to our upcoming Regcast, [1]Your API-Powered Digital Evolution , on March 30 at 0900 PDT (1200 EDT).

Proceedings will be overseen by Tim Phillips, our own one man automation engine. Tim will be joined by Greg Brail, principal software engineer and chief architect for the Business Applications Platform Group at Google Cloud, and former chief architect of Apigee, the API management and analytics vendor that Google bought in 2016.

Together, they’ll explain why your digital strategy won’t amount to much without an API strategy at its core, and how this will help you evolve from bespoke integration – and all the pain that causes – to leveraging APIs to create new applications and automations.

They’ll also explain how this can put transformational powers into the hands of your developers – and potentially into the hands of line of business staffers too.

Joining us is as low code as it gets. Just [2]drop in your details here , and we’ll make sure your calendar is updated and you’re reminded on the day. Then all you need to do is tune-in, relax, and think about just how API your future can be.
