ARM Give a man a fire and he's warm for a day, but set fire to him and he's warm for the rest of his life (Terry Pratchett, Jingo)

Your comms may be paperless, but are they actually secure? Thought so...

(2020/10/02)

Webcast The idea of the paperless office has been with us since, probably, the invention of paper. But like the 15-hour working week and the flying-car commute, it always seems to be just over the rainbow of practicality.

But, if like most of us, you’ve spent the past six months or so working remotely, it’s not like you’ve had memos regularly dropping onto your desk. But you’ll have been deluged with emails – not to mention the ubiquitous Zoom meetings.

This is as thoroughgoing a digital transformation as any CIO might have imagined, say, a year ago. But while most of the paper may have disappeared, are the actual communications any more efficient? And crucially, are they really any more secure?

These would be pretty fundamental questions at the best of time, and with many of us only now coming to grips with the implications of the great shift to homeworking, these are perhaps not the best of times. So if you’re looking for some answers, you’ll want to [1]join us on October 14 at 0900 PDT (1200 EDT, 1700 BST), for a [2]Register webcast on secure paperless communications.

Regular Register talking head Tim Phillips will be joined by Jacob Ginsberg, senior director of market intelligence at Echoworx, which knows a thing or two about secure comms, having been offering email encryption since 2000.

Tim and Jacob will be taking a look at the potential ROI of secure paperless communications – spoiler alert, it’s quite a lot.

But they’ll also take a long hard look at why just getting to secure paperless communications (never mind the whole office) is so difficult. Another spoiler alert – this can be because while technical folks might know a product is “secure” and is what the business needs, that is no guarantee it will fit with how the business actually works.

So Jacob will be outlining how to approach a secure communications project and plan it out so that you get it right first time. Because, if you mess it up, there’s unlikely to a second time.

We can’t guarantee it’ll help you get to that mythical 15-hour work, but you’ll certainly come away with a better grasp of both the problem, and how to solve it.

Signing up is, naturally, a secure paperless process. Just drop in your details [3]here , and we’ll remind you on the day to tune into the webcast, brought to you by Echoworx. Roll on October.
