ASEAN trade bloc scoops Googlebucks to digitise businesses out of COVID-19 crunch

The Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN) has won a $3.3m grant from Google’s philanthropic Google.org limb and will use it to educate locals in all things digital as part of the region’s COVID-19 escape plan.
The regional bloc has teamed with nonprofit international development organisation The Asia Foundation on the project, dubbed [1]Go Digital ASEAN .
The project hopes to train up to 200,000 people from rural regions and underserved communities—including entrepreneurs, underemployed youth, and women – with the aim of broadening participation in the digital economy among those who will most benefit from digital literacy. Another aim is assisting business to continue operating during and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.

The regional focus reflects that fact that while mega-cities around ASEAN’s member nations are well-connected and served by government and commercial digital services, more remote locales and smaller cities have less access to technology and skills to wield it even though smartphones are increasingly ubiquitous across the region. Training will therefore be customised to local conditions, with the overall aim being to improve students’ chance of using the digital economy to get ahead during both the current crisis and whatever comes next. ®

In reverso land, ASEAN is a bunch of villages suffering from COVID 19 without digital skills and if they're lucky they have smartphones, Google is a competent tech giant. In reality, its a developed zone that makes your tech and tackled Covid19 successfully, Google is a shark jump company unable to update its products without making them crash.
Do you need help?
I mean you seems to be struggling, all slow internet, lack of housing, lack of healthcare, and increasing Corona virus? An insane debt that can never be paid, unable even to make its own PPE, Corona virus growing out-of-control fast, and money supply growing even faster. You're the masters of self dellusion, but you know if you need help, you can drop the pride and bullshit like this, and ASEAN is more than capable of helping you.
EU in particular, you can see what's happening in the USA right? One call with Putin, June 1st/undocumented, and USA pulls troops from Germany, and he doesn't even tell the Pentagon or Pompeo till after him and Putin made the decision. EU you need new allies and a new direction, and maybe its time to look East. Your choice is China or ASEAN, and it would be better for you if it was ASEAN+EU rather than ASEAN+3.
Xi can certainly see the flip that's happening, going into denial about it won't fix it. It seems inevitable.
