The [1]Igalia Linux/open-source consulting firm based out of A Coruña, Spain is celebrating twenty five years of contributions to upstream open-soure projects.

Igalia was founded in September 2001 by engineers from the University of A Coruña as a self-run Linux/open-source consulting firm. In the quarter of a century it's now grown close to 200 people around the world. Beyond contributing to the upstream Linux kernel they have also become significant contributors to areas like browser engines with WebKit, Chromium, and Servo. They are also big contributors to Mesa, GStreamer, LLVM, and various other desktop open-source projects too.

Some of the recent projects they have taken on at their consulting firm include Igalia having worked on Wayland and AMD color management on the behalf of Valve, improved the Raspberry Pi and Qualcomm Adreno graphics drivers, worked on fair scheduling for Linux kernel GPU drivers, and also enhanced the FEX emulator too.
