NVIDIA today debuted the 615.71.09 Linux driver that comes with a number of improvements, especially from the Vulkan API perspective.

NVIDIA 615.71.09 comes with VK_NV_low_latency revision 2 support that enables out-of-the-box Pproton support for NVIDIA Reflex with Vulkan-native games making use of the NVIDIA low-latency Vulkan library from Windows. There is also support for the VK_EXT_cluster_acceleration_structure Vulkan extension as another notable addition. Plus there are various other Vulkan driver fixes.

The NVIDIA R615 Linux driver alsoo fixes start-up and alt-tab hangs when making use of NVIDIA Smooth Motion, fixing an Xid error when loading PRAGMATA on Wayland, and a new "RmDisableDisplayGlitchPerfLimit" kernel driver option that can help reduce idle power consumption in some multi-monitor configurations.

Also notable with the NVIDIA R615 Linux driver is support for cgroups-based memory partitioning with their open kernel driver at long last.

Aside from those main highlights, there are also a number of new bug fixes with today's NVIDIA Linux driver release.
