Released tonight is [1]Ubuntu 26.10 "Stonking Stingray" Snapshot 3 as the newest monthly ISO candidates for Ubuntu Linux.

Ubuntu 26.10 is working its way toward the official release in October while these monthly "Snapshot" releases help facilitate testing of their release automation and wider-spread testing by the Ubuntu Linux community, complementing their continuous daily ISO snapshots for the most leading-edge experience.

Ubuntu 26.10 Snapshot 3 isn't production-ready but strictly geared for throw-away type testing. This provides the latest Ubuntu 26.10 experience now with all the newest packages for helping uncover bugs earlier. The Ubuntu 26.10 UI freeze is coming up next week, the kernel feature freeze on 17 September for its Linux 7.2 based kernel, and the beta freeze on 21 September. The Ubuntu 26.10 Beta is scheduled for 24 September while the official release of Ubuntu 26.10 is expected on 15 October.
