The x86 platform driver changes are now in place for the Linux 7.3 kernel with additions for upcoming AMD Zen 6 hardware, the RGB LED driver controls for the Ryzen AI Halo PC, and a lot of laptop support additions and improvements for a variety of devices from different hardware vendors. Plus some handheld gaming device updates too.
Among the many x86 platform driver changes, the [1]Ryzen AI Halo LED driver was merged for allowing the toggling of the LEDs and RGB control on the Ryzen AI Halo mini PC. It's [2]a great and powerful Linux mini PC powered by Ryzen AI Max+. It even ships with its own [3]in-house AMD Linux distribution too while now for Linux 7.3+ the mainline kernel can control the device's lighting configuration.
The AMD HSMP driver has also added protocol v7 support used by Zen 6 Family 1Ah Model 80H processors. There are also AMD PMF platform driver additions for Family 1Ah Model 80H processors, presumably the Zen 6 client desktop CPU models. The AMD PMF driver at large is also now exposing device metrics via a new ioctl interface.
The Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen2 AMD (20XL) also has an s2idle quirk within the AMD PMC driver.
On the handheld computer side, the MSI WMI driver added support for [4]the MSI Claw's M Center keys .
The OneXPLayer "OXPEC" driver added support for the OneXPlayer X2 Mini Pro handheld.
Some of the other x86 platform driver updates include support for the ASUS ProArt PX13's "ProArt" key via the ASUS NB WMI driver. The ASUS Armoury driver also now supports adjusting power limits on more devices.
The LG laptop platform driver has added support for various events found on newer LG laptop models. The LG Gram 16T90SP also now has fixed keyboard backlight support.
The HP WMI driver for Linux 7.3 picked up GPU MUX switching support, supporting CPU and GPU PWM fan support independently, and new device support of the MEN MAX 16-ak0xxx, OMEN 16-n0xxx, OMEN 16-wd0xxx, OMEN 16-wf0xxx, OMEN board ID 8D88, and MEN Transcend 16-u0xxx support.
For Lenovo device support there is yb9-kbdock as a new driver for the Yoga Book 9 14IAH10. Also on the Lenovo device side for the ThinkPad APCI driver is [5]support for the USB-C Security "USCS" feature on newer ThinkPads . USCS allows charging USB-C devices but data transfers are blocked.
The Samsung Galaxybook platform driver added support for the Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro.
For the Uniwill driver that is worked on a lot by TUXEDO Computers for their hardware, there is keyboard backlight, AC auto boot, and USB power-share support. The MACHENIKE L16 Pro, AiStone X4SP4NAL, and Avell A60 MUV laptops are now supported by that driver too.
Lastly the MSI EC driver added support for the MSI Raider A18 HX A9WJG and MSI Katana GF76 11UEK.
