LLVM/Clang 23.1 Released With AMD Zen 6 & NVIDIA Rigel Support, Partial C++26 Support

LLVM 23.1 was released today on-schedule as the first stable release of the [1]LLVM 23 series as the H2'2026 update to this open-source compiler stack.

LLVM 23.1 brings many notable improvements from [2]AMD Zen 6 "znver6" support to various C/C++ language enhancements and a variety of other changes.

The new LLVM release brings [3]x86 Lightweight Fault Isolation "LFI" target support, initial support for the [4]NVIDIA Rigel core to be found with the NVIDIA Rosa processor, [5]Arm C1-Ultra scheduling model , [6]the new AMD HIP offload driver , partial support for C++26 with -std=c++2c, more C2Y language functionality, LLD linker improvements, various compiler diagnostic improvements, AMDGPU GFX1310 target support, SpacemiT X100 RISC-V targeting support, experimental assembler support for various newer RISC-V instructions, and AVX-512 BMM support as part of the AMD znver6 target introduction for Zen 6 processors.

LLVM 23.1.0 downloads can be found via [7]GitHub . Source code is available while pre-built binaries will be published soon for those not spinning up their own builds.
