The in-development Linux 7.3 kernel is [1]marking Nova Lake Xe3P graphics as stable in being enabled by default and no longer hidden behind the "force probe" flag. While on-by-default, there still are some features that have yet to land like the DisplayPort 2.1 ALPM functionality.

Going back to November 2025 was when I first reported on [2]Intel preparing their Linux driver for DisplayPort 2.1 ALPM to debut with Xe3P graphics. DisplayPort 2.1 introduces Advanced Link Power Management (ALPM) as a fast-wake, fast-sleep of a sink device for greater power savings especially with eDP laptops. DP ALPM can provide power savings during periods of inactivity yet respond rapidly when activity resumes.

While the patches have been out there for nearly a year for DP 2.1 ALPM for Xe3P, they have yet to be merged. Sent out today was [3]the v5 patches as the fifth iteration of ALPM for Xe3P. No change-log comparing these new patches to the prior revision was part of the mailing list series, but in any case activity is still progressing on supporting this functionality under Linux. Hopefully it will be ready for merging soon for helping with power-savings on Linux with next-gen Nova Lake laptops.

Overall though the Linux support for Intel Nova Lake appears largely in order with Linux 7.3.
