VKD3D 2.1 was released today by CodeWeavers' Henri Verbeet as the upstream Wine project for getting Direct3D 12 implemented over the Vulkan API.
VKD3D 2.1 brings a number of new features and improvements to its HLSL shader language support, including a dead store elimination pass to more closely match the constant table layout of the Direct3D compiler. There is also stricter validation and other enhancements. VKD3D 2.1 also continued enhancing its legacy Direct3D byte code source support.
The updated VKD3D with its SPIR-V target now supports floating point to 64-bite signed/unsigned integer conversion operations that is useful for DXIL sources. There are also various improvements to its OpenGL shading language target support.
More details on the many changes to find with the VKD3D 2.1 feature release can be found via today's announcement on [1]WineHQ.org .
