OpenAPV 0.3 Adds APV RAW Encoding/Decoding Support

([Multimedia] 41 Minutes Ago OpenAPV 0.3)

OpenAPV, the Academy Software Foundation project that provides a reference implementation of the Advanced Professional Video (APV) codec is out with a new feature update.

APV is the leading open-source alternative to Apple's ProRes video codec that is supported from the likes of Samsung to DaVinci Resolve for high fidelity, high quality video content.

The big addition to the OpenAPV 0.3 professional video codec reference implementation is adding APV raw support. Both APV RAW video encoding and decoding are supported. A compressing and expanding algorithm for coding 16-bit 4-channel linear pixel value data is added and a new profile introduced for better differentiating APV and APV RAW formats.

If APV RAW support is of interest to you, learn more about the OpenAPV 0.3 release or downloads of the BSD-licensed software via [1]Academy Software Foundation on GitHub .
