Ahead of the Linux 7.1-rc6 kernel due out on Sunday, this week's round of USB fixes have been merged with various new device quirks added as well as some patches as a result of scanning tools.

Greg Kroah-Hartman in today's USB pull request for Linux 7.1-rc6 characterized the changes as: " a set of USB fixes and new device ids for 7.1-rc6. Nothing major in here, just lots of tiny fixes for reported issues found by users and some older patches found by some scanning tools. "

One of the USB quirks standing out is for the PNY Elite Portable SSD, which needs similar special treatment to the existing PNY Pro Elite SSD quirks. This SSD with a Phison-based USB-SATA bridge exhibits firmware bugs with the UAS driver leading to being unable to complete "READ CAPACITY" commands and related issues. With these new quirks, the device now enumerates correctly and can deliver full UAS throughput.

Another quirk for the week is for the Lenovo ThinkPad USB-C Dock Gen2 hub controllers exhibiting link instability when USB Link Power Management is enabled. This can lead to repeated disconnect/reconnect cycles up to two minutes while disabling the Link Power Management (LPM) avoids this issue.

Yet another USB quirk this week is fixing the EIC7700 RISC-V SoC'S USB reset issues due to some Device Tree woes.
