FreeBSD 15.1 continues working its way toward a stable release in June. Out today is FreeBSD 15.1 Beta 2.
Following last week's [1]FreeBSD 15.1 Beta 1 milestone, a second weekly test release is now available for evaluation. Fixed over the past week is updating against Zstd 1.5.7 upstream for the latest standard compression support, bsdinstall now consistently using pkg.freebsd.org for package bootstrap operations, manual page updates, and other fixes.
When it comes to user-space fixes in FreeBSD 15.1 Beta 2, a number of userland utility bugs have been fixed that affected ifconfig, lockf, stat, tail, and certctl. In kernel space, various bugs have been fixed around nullfs, so_splice, and VT.

FreeBSD 15.1 Beta 3 is expected next week followed by a release candidate the following week. If all goes well, FreeBSD 15.1-RELEASE will be out on 2 June.
