Sruthi Chandran has been elected the new Debian Project Leader "DPL" after running unopposed in this year's elections.

Sruthi Chandran was the only candidate and then following the voting formalities for a quorum, she has now been [1]elected the next DPL.

Andreas Tille's term is expiring tomorrow and chose not to seek another term as the Debian Project Leader.

Sruthi Chandran's [2]platform page describes herself as a librarian turned Free Software enthusiast and Debian Developer. She has been involved with Ruby, JavaScript, Go, and font packages for Debian since 2016 while noting "not very active nowadays" with the packaging. She has also been a Community Team delegate, Outreach team member, and DebConf Committee member. Her hope is to help increase the diversity within Debian and to bring diversity issues for discussion.

Sruthi is now [3]elected the next Debian Project Leader.
