Given the Ubuntu 26.04 LTS release being imminent and also realizing it's been nearly one year to the day since reviewing the [2]Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition laptop under Linux, I ran some fresh benchmarks for seeing how the integrated Xe2 graphics have evolved on Linux over the past year.
[3]
When first testing the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon G13 laptop on Linux with the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V, I was using Ubuntu 25.04 with its Linux 6.14 kernel and Mesa 25.0.3 graphics driver stack. I re-ran all the same graphics benchmarks on the same laptop but now using Ubuntu 26.04 in its near-final state with the Linux 7.0 kernel and Mesa 26.0.3 graphics drivers for Intel ANV and Iris Gallium3D.
[4]
The Intel Core Ultra 7 258V Lunar Lake SoC has 8 CPU cores and the Arc 140V GPU with a 1.95GHz mmaximum dynamic frequency and 8 Xe cores.
This is a very straight-forward test for seeing how the Intel Xe2 Lunar Lake graphics have evolved over the past year from Ubuntu 25.04 to Ubuntu 26.04 on this Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon laptop, so let's jump straight to the benchmarks.
