([Wayland] 5 Hours Ago Cage 0.3)

Cage as [1]the Wayland compositor providing a kiosk mode for single, maximized apps is out with a new feature release more than six months after its prior version.

Wayland developer Simon Ser announced the release today of Cage 0.3. With this new version it has upgraded to [2]wlroots 0.20 as the newest feature release of this Wayland support library. The wlroots 0.20 upstream release brought new protocol implementations including color-representation-v1, ext-workspace-v1, foreign toplevel support in ext-image-capture-source-v1, xdg-toplevel-tag-v1 for tapping top-levels, color-management-v1 minor version 2, cursor-shape-v1 minor version 2, and xdg-shell minor version 7. Wlroots has also been working on other color management enhancements, completing its Vulkan renderer, and more.

The Cage 0.3 release also wired up support for the wlr-foreign-toplevel-management protocol to be able to control windows from an external program. There is also now drm-lease-v1 protocol support for Cage too if wanting to use VR headsets with this compositor.
