Hyprland 0.49 Wayland Compositor Working On Permission Management & New Protocols

([Wayland] 6 Hours Ago Hyprland 0.49)

Hyprland 0.49 released on Thursday as the newest version of this unique Wayland compositor project.

The Hyprland 0.49 release brings Android/iOS/macOS-inspired pop-ups to ask for permission to take a screenshot and other controls. Hyprland 0.49 lays out the initial permission management infrastructure but for this initial release is disabled by default. In any event a nice feature to look forward to moving ahead for greater control and security/privacy around your desktop.

The Hyprland 0.49 release also adds [1]xdg-system-bell protocol support for handling any system bell behavior per Wayland protocol standards and also the xdg-toplevel-tag protocol useful for Chrome and other purposes with [2]the new top-level tag protocol .

Hyprland 0.49 also brings support for optionally allowing keybinds to be disabled per-device, new socket2 events, new window rules, and other changes.

closer resemblance to the atom, also the ultimate, indivisible unit of
matter ... The ion differs from the molecule, the corpuscle and the
atom in that it is an ion ...
