Wine 9.19 Brings Improved Window Positioning On Wayland

([WINE] 4 Hours Ago Wine 9.19)

We are quickly working our way to the end of the calendar year where Wine 9.xx bi-weekly development releases will focus on a shift to stability for releasing Wine 10.0 in early 2025. But we're not there yet and Wine 9.19 is out today to deliver the newest batch of features and fixes for this open-source software to enjoy Windows games and apps on Linux.

Wine 9.19 delivers on updates for Unicode 16 support, greater support for network sessions within DirectPlay, Plug and Play device improvements, and better window positioning within the Wayland driver. RĂ©mi Bernon landed a number of Wine Wayland improvements for using the window DPI for the OpenGL client surface size, new Wayland helpers, and other related improvements to deal with window positioning under Wayland.

Wine 9.19 also has 11 known bug fixes helping apps like WordSmith and Quicken WillMaker to games like Death to Spies.

Downloads and the full list of patches making up the Wine 9.19 bi-weekly development release can be found via [1]WineHQ.org .
