It's been just one week since the release of [1]ROCm 6.2.1 while today ROCm 6.2.2 was released.
ROCm 6.2.2 is just a very minor update over the prior 6.2.1 point release. The only listed change is fixing an Instinct MI300X error recovery failure that was present in the previous releases. ROCm 6.2.2 will make sure Instinct MI300X accelerators can recovery from scenarios involving uncorrectable errors to avoid the system hitting an undefined state.
There are no other changes in ROCm 6.2.2 besides fixing this MI300X error recovery handling. Details on setting up ROCm 6.2.2 and other information on the new update is available via [2]the ROCm docs .
We're now about to enter Q4, it will be interesting to see what AMD has in store next. It's typically around the end of each calendar year where AMD announces major ROCm software releases. It will be interesting to see if ROCm 7.0 is announced soon and what could be in store for it to better compete with NVIDIA's CUDA and overall enhancing their AI/GPGPU positioning.
