Intel Compute Runtime 24.35.30872.22 released today as the newest tagged version of this open-source GPU compute stack providing oneAPI Level Zero and OpenCL support for Linux and Windows systems.
Most significant with the Intel Compute Runtime 24.35.30872.22 is that it now advertises Lunar Lake Xe2 graphics support albeit in "preview" form. The v24.35.30872.22 release is the first time with Lunar Lake support mentioned. But prior releases [1]began plumbing the Xe2 graphics support .
The Lunar Lake support is of "preview" quality and supports OpenCL 3.0 and Level Zero 1.3 like other recent Intel integrated and discrete graphics. Notably missing though is no Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) support at this time, unlike other generations of Intel graphics.
The Lunar Lake support was tested by Intel using the Linux 6.11-rc5 kernel but there the "force probe" overrides are required. Only with the in-development Linux 6.12 kernel is where there is Lunar Lake graphics support being exposed out-of-the-box.
I [2]pre-ordered a Lunar Lake laptop for Linux testing since Intel hasn't offered any support for Lunar Lake testing. Stay tuned for Lunar Lake Linux support testing and benchmarking to begin later next week.
This updated Intel Compute Runtime code for OpenCL and Level Zero with Lunar Lake can be downloaded from [3]GitHub . Great seeing the timely and continued GPU compute support from Intel even for their integrated, consumer graphics hardware.
