KDE Squeezes A Few More Features Into The Plasma 6.2 Desktop

While KDE developers this weekend are busy attending Akademy 2024 as their annual developer conference taking place in Würzburg, Germany, prior to that there were a few last minute features merged for the upcoming Plasma 6.2 desktop.
Last week [1]Plasma 6.2 entered its soft feature freeze while this week ahead of KDE developers enjoying local beverages in Würzburg during the Akademy developer conference, a few more features landed.
Among the last minute features in the Plasma 6.2 desktop is support for renaming audio devices. Plasma 6.2 to also allow clicking/double-clikcing .ovpn VPN profile files to configure a new Virtual Private Network (VPN) configuration with ease.
Files within ~/Templates will now appear as templates under the "Create New..." menu. There is also better handling in Plasma 6.2 when copying image data to the clipboard. Plasma 6.2 will also bring optimized search performance for Discover and other optimizations.
Many bug fixes have also begun flowing in not only for Plasma 6.2 but also for the Plasma 6.1.5 point release. For Plasma 6.2 includes yet more possible Plasma crash fixes -- including under X11.
