It's taken until now to add FreeBSD to the X.Org Continuous Integration (CI) automated testing so that all proposed changes to the X.Org Server can now be build-tested on FreeBSD rather than just Linux.
Enrico Weigelt who near single-handedly has taken up interest in fixing bugs and trying to improve the X.Org Server has managed to get FreeBSD CI testing established for X.Org.
Prior to this integration, FreeBSD X.Org testing had to be done manually and thus not very often. But now FreeBSD 14 is part of the X.Org CI so all branches and merge requests will be at least automatically compiled for FreeBSD to ensure build compatibility. An arguably long overdue change.
In today's [1]mailing list post announcing FreeBSD X.Org CI support, Enrico also commented he hopes to have CI coverage for Solaris. However, they don't currently have the necessary Oracle Solaris licenses for running it publicly in the FreeDesktop.org cloud.
