Armbian 24.8 has been released as the newest version of this Debian-based Linux distribution that began with a focus on ARM boards but has also expanded to include RISC-V as well as traditional x86_64 Intel/AMD systems too.
Armbian 24.8 supports a number of newer ARM and RISC-V boards now with the new version. Among the new board targets in Armbian 24.8 "Yelt" are the Libre Alta and Solitude, Radxa E25, Rock 5C, RISCV64 BananaPi F3, and others. Armbian 24.8 also improves its compatibility with the Lenovo ThinkPad X13s Snapdragon-powered laptop.
Armbian 24.8 also moves to using the Linux 6.10 kernel across all kernel flavors, improved Rockchip RK3588 bootloader upgrades, 4K@60 video acceleration is now available in more configurations, expanded desktop support across GNOME / Xfce / Cinnamon / KDE Plasma desktops, OpenZFS 2.2.5, expanded 3D driver support, and other upgrades.
