A new batch of HID subsystem fixes were merged today for the ongoing [1]Linux 6.11 kernel development.
First up the ASUS HID driver has extended the ASUS ROG Ally quirks so they also apply to the newly-released ASUS ROG Ally X. This newer revision of the ASUS ROG handheld gaming console requires the same HID/input quirks as the original device. This ASUS-HID driver work for the ROG Ally X follows [2]other recent Linux patches for this AMD Ryzen Z1 powered handheld. The fixes have been heading into Linux 6.11 while [3]more ROG Ally X work will come in Linux v6.12 .
Another HID quirk/fix merged today is for the Goodix GT7868Q touchpad within the HID multi-touch driver. The GT7868Q has incorrect data otherwise exposed while the new quirk fixes things up. In turn this GT7868Q quirk gets the haptic touchpad on at least the Lenovo ThinkBook 13X Gen 4 successfully working.
Also of interest to some readers may be a Wacom tablet driver fix for correcting a regression in the twist gesture handling. The hid-cougar and AMD SFH drivers have also seen memory corruption fixes.
