Feral's GameMode 1.8.2 Fixes Hybrid CPU Core Pinning

([Linux Gaming] 4 Hours Ago GameMode 1.8.2)

GameMode as the open-source daemon from Feral Interactive to optimize Linux system performance on-demand when running games is out with its first release of 2024.

[1]GameMode can dynamically adjust the CPU frequency scaling governor, I/O priority, process niceness, CPU core pinning, and other features when launching games in the name of aiming for peak performance but then returning to prior defaults for power-savings after your gaming session has wrapped up. GameMode has seen a lot of use and shipping by default in various Linux distributions for benefiting Linux gamers, but the last point release was last December. That changed this morning with GameMode 1.8.2 being released.

GameMode 1.8.2 brings a handful of bug fixes compared to the prior point release. New to GameMode 1.8.2 is fixing hybrid CPU core pinning for modern Intel Core CPUs with a mix of P and E cores, fixing the idle inhibitor, a possible crash fix, and various other bug-fixes and additions to the documentation.
