> Pinterest had 5,205 full-time employees as of September 2025. The latest job cut would translate to less than 780 positions. Top executives at the World Economic Forum's annual meeting said while jobs would disappear, new ones would spring up, with two telling Reuters that AI would be used as an excuse by companies which were planning layoffs anyway. Last week, design software maker Autodesk also announced a 7% job cut to redirect investments to its cloud platform and AI efforts.

We are absolutely in a recession and that means there isn't a lot of money around for these companies to blow on their AI bullshit. When companies need cash fast they have two ways to get it, borrow it or fire workers.
You can't really borrow right now because interest rates are extremely high thanks to the trade war. We were on track to drop interest rates substantially which would have led to a hiring boom and Good times for us all, but we fucked that up. The tariffs are doing exactly what they're supposed to, they raise prices. And high prices mean high interest rates to counter inflation.
Remember the way high interest rates counter inflation is your ass gets fired and you're either unemployed for a long time or best case scenario you take a pay cut. It's balancing the books on your back.
You could stop this trade War this year if you and your family and friends vote the people doing the trade War out. That will force prices to stabilize and the Federal reserve can cut rates safely. That will translate to more job opportunities for you.

No, you can't. There's one party. No one had any interest in stopping the Federal International Sales Tax. It's not a "Tariff." It's literally a brand new Federal Tax, and all the independent/libertarian types in the middle of the compass saw this exactly for what it was.
