Palmer Luckey's Anduril Launches EagleEye Military Helmet (theverge.com)

(Monday October 13, 2025 @11:30PM (BeauHD) from the war-meets-war dept.)

Palmer Luckey's defense tech firm Anduril has [1]unveiled EagleEye, an AI-powered mixed-reality combat helmet [2]built in partnership with Meta . The system integrates AR displays, spatial audio, and drone control to create what Luckey calls "a new teammate" for soldiers. "The idea of an AI partner embedded in your display has been imagined for decades. EagleEye is the first time it's real," said Luckey. The Verge reports:

> Anduril, which also manufactures border control tech, lethal drones, and military aircraft, has been developing EagleEye since its inception, and already provides software for the Army's existing MR goggles, based on Microsoft's HoloLens hardware. Its partnership with Meta was announced this May, and the company told TechCrunch at the time that the collaboration was to develop EagleEye. It's a reunion of sorts for Luckey and Mark Zuckerberg, after Meta purchased Luckey's then-start-up Oculus in 2014 and fired the founder three years later.

tbh if all it did was chant "Remember your vows. defend the constitutioon" over and over again, that might end up being useful.

Not that I trust palmer or Thiel to give a shit about the constitution , with their authoritarian surveilance fantasies and all.

I'd settle for members of Congress getting that message: Oath to The Constitution, Responsibilities of Congress, Checks and Balances, ... -- you know, all the stuff we (should have) learned in high school government class.

For SCOTUS, I'd add: Don't pull and misapply stuff from 400 years ago to invent justifications for your agendas. If you're an Originalist or Textualist, then be that more than just when it's convenient.

No, hacked by Jimmy Smith, age 14, of Colorado, who is interested in shoot-em-up war games with realism. His dad's machine was connected through Comcast to his bot at the local library. /sarcasm

In reality, I hope this is just a pilot. And there are overrides. And it doesn't come with an included shock collar.

A "Hey soldier, would you like to meet women over 40 in your area?" ad pops up. Unable to find the close pop-up X in time he perishes.

BTW so nice that there is continuity in the graft of DOD procurement. Different names, but the scam still remains the same.
