What do they even do? Is there a product? I have legit never heard of this $32 Billion company and I'm in the space.

Automated security. Check your configurations, etc. They have a really pretty dashboard ("pretty" is essential in security if you want to make money). They have decent software engineers (who haven't been hobbled by modern PM/PM slowdown project management), who have managed to [1]find a decent list of actual things [wikipedia.org].
They also have a marketing team to match their development team.
Combining decent engineering, a flashy dashboard, and a solid marketing team, they've been growing very quickly.

We started running Wiz in our pipelines recently. I haven't seen the dashboard yet, since we have Snyk and a bunch of other scanning tools to keep up with.

A deal of this magnitude by a company currently not only under antitrust investigation but under threat of breakup would I suspect raise eyebrows in regulatory bodies everywhere.
That said it's not like regulatory bodies in the USA actually have any power anymore, but I wonder what some overseas regulators will say about this.

All indications are that Trump dislikes Google, so I expect regulatory bodies to not be stopped, and even be encouraged by Trump.

Well, to be fair that other article is about going into talks to buy Wiz, this is about the deal being closed.
