> Companies across sectors such as architecture, engineering, construction, and product design are making extensive use of Autodesk's 3D design solutions, with the software maker's artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities further driving spending on its products. Autodesk saw a 23% jump in total billings to $2.11 billion in the fourth quarter ended January 31.

To cut jobs to boost AI investment. Either it's just a smoke screen so that they don't take a hit on the stock market, or they have replaced a bunch of workers with AI, or a little bit of both.

Sure thing, AAANUS SNIFFER. It goes a little like this:

Step 1: Fire workers.

Step 2: Pay out wages of fired workers as executive bonuses.

Step 3: Tell remaining employees to make up for the lost productivity or they're fired too.

Step 4: Tell investors everything is going great!

Hope that cleared things up for you.

At the heart of science is an essential tension between two seemingly
contradictory attitudes -- an openness to new ideas, no matter how bizarre
or counterintuitive they may be, and the most ruthless skeptical scrutiny
of all ideas, old and new. This is how deep truths are winnowed from deep
nonsense. Of course, scientists make mistakes in trying to understand the
world, but there is a built-in error-correcting mechanism: The collective
enterprise of creative thinking and skeptical thinking together keeps the
field on track.
