Apple is [1]offering rare discounts of up to 500 yuan ($68.50) on its latest iPhone models in China, as the U.S. tech giant moves to defend its market share against rising competition from domestic rivals like Huawei. From a report:

because we live is a Money-centric society... lowering prices everywhere would lower profits way to much

Imo, Apple has lost a lot of its lustre. Some will still buy just because it's Apple or they're locked into that ecosystem, but the number of such people are dwindling because Apple products just aren't significantly better, if at all.
