Raspberry Pi Desktop Overhauled On Raspberry Pi OS, Adds Icon Dock

The Raspberry Pi Desktop on Raspberry Pi OS has seen a major overhaul to better modernize the desktop computing experience on the ARM64 single board computers.

The Raspberry Pi Desktop hasn't evolved too much over the years but with the latest OS image and package updates out today come a big UI/UX modernization effort with significant changes.

The Raspberry Pi Desktop now features an icon dock by default, to complement or replace the existing taskbar.

There is also now a graphical application launcher screen as a replacement to the main menu widget on Raspberry Pi OS.

The improved desktop also has a new task list, new customization options for the dock and desktop, an improved screenshot taking experience, and other enhancements.
