Xen 4.22 Released With AMD Zen 5 BLT Support, Improved RISC-V Virtualization

The Xen Project today released Xen 4.22 as the newest feature release of this open-source hypervisor popular for open-source virtualization in automotive systems and other embedded use-cases as well as the cloud.
Xen 4.22 continues enhancing its hardware support, including now having support for Bus Lock Threshold (BLT) found with AMD Zen 5 processors. Zen 5's Bus Lock Threshold minimizes system performance degradation from improper atomic instructions. Bus Lock Threshold is able to track and limit slow atomic instructions. The feature was also referred to as [1]Bus Lock Trap .
Also on the hardware side, Xen 4.22 continues improving its RISC-V processor support as it works toward full guest virtualization support in conjunction with the relevant RISC-V ISA extensions and Linux kernel features. Xen 4.22 also improves its ARM support with now having guest suspend/resume power management and other enhancements.
Xen 4.22 is also now able to fend off guest resource over-consumption in cloud environments as well as bringing new enhancements around Xen's use within automotive systems.
