For those that have picked up one of the neat [1]AMD Ryzen AI Halo mini PCs , the LED driver allowing for customization of the LED lighting bar is set to be mainlined for the Linux 7.3 kernel cycle.
The AMD Ryzen AI Halo PC is in great shape for Linux and AMD even [2]ships their own customized Linux distribution based on Debian as the Ryzen AI Developer Platform. One of the few Linux limitations at launch though was the inability to control the LED lighting with the mainline kernel, although could be toggled within the Ryzen AI Developer Platform.
AMD engineers have been developing [3]an LED driver for the Ryzen AI Halo box to allow not only turning the LEDs on/off but manipulating the LED color too.

The latest news is that this "amd_halo_led" driver is queued in [5]platform-drivers-x86.git's "for-next" Git branch . With this driver now in place, it's set to be submitted for the Linux 7.3 merge window once that opens in late August.
So with Linux 7.3 it will be possible to configure the Ryzen AI Halo device's LED lighting via the new /sys/class/leds/amd_halo:multicolor:status/multi_intensity and /sys/class/leds/amd_halo:multicolor:status/brightness interfaces. The amd_halo_led driver is toggled at build time via the new AMD_HALO_LED Kconfig option.
