Nate Graham and John Veness are out with the latest issue of This Week in Plasma to highlight all of the interesting developments taking place in the KDE Plasma desktop space.
As covered earlier in the week on Phoronix, KWin in Plasma 6.8 has implemented [1]support for server-side drop shadows . This is useful for apps like Steam and Sicord.
Merged this week, KDE System Monitor with Plasma 6.8 will allow easily assigning processes to specific CPUs or groups of CPUs. Convenient CPU affinity handling from within KDE's System Monitor:
Meanwhile for the Plasma 6.7 series, Plasma 6.7.4 is fixing a "somewhat common" way that Discover could crash while installing updates.
For the KDE Frameworks 6.29 is an improvement to help reduce Plasma memory usage thanks to changes in KSVG and KGUIAddons around caching.
