[1]KosmicKrisp as the Vulkan API driver built atop Apple's Metal API in Mesa for macOS and iOS systems is now advertising Vulkan 1.4 compatibility.
KosmicKrisp continues marching forward as this Mesa-based Vulkan-to-Metal driver and alternative to the MoltenVK project with similar goals. KosmicKrisp development continues being led by LunarG and with the newest code for Mesa 26.2 there is now Vulkan 1.4 support exposed as a big highlight for this forthcoming Mesa quarterly feature release.
VK_QUERY_TYPE_TIMESTAMP support was the last bit needed before KosmicKrisp was ready to land its Vulkan 1.4 support and is passing clean on the Vulkan conformance test suite.
[2]This merge is what hit Mesa Git on Tuesday for now exposing Vulkan 1.4 atop the Apple Metal API for use on macOS/iOS devices. Great seeing KosmicKrisp continue to support newer Vulkan API features for making this cross-platform graphics API more robust in the Apple world.
