For those that were intrigued by [1]the COSMIC desktop's "Frosted Glass" effect , it's now available in released form with today's COSMIC Epoch 1.3 release.
System76 software engineers responsible for the Rust-based COSMIC desktop environment as part of their Pop!_OS Linux distribution today christened COSMIC Epoch 1.3. The headline feature is the frosted glass effect that can be activated via the COSMIC Settings. It's looking pretty nice in my opinion and many other Phoronix readers also seem to be in agreement:
COSMIC Epoch 1.3 also brings translation updates and other minor refinements to this version, but the big ticket item is the optional frosted glass appearance.
COSMIC Epoch 1.3 is already available on Pop!_OS 24.04 while should work its way to other rolling distribution repositories soon. Those building from source can find Epoch 1.3 via [2]GitHub .
