Steam On Linux Usage Receded A Bit In June

([Valve] 4 Hours Ago 3.69%)

Back in March [1]Steam on Linux use shot up to 5.33% as a big 3.1% improvement over February. In April it [2]dropped to 4.52% and then [3]fell to 3.99% in May . Valve just published the Steam Survey numbers for June and it points to another minor setback from the recent all-time high of Steam on Linux.

The Steam Survey numbers for June put Linux at 3.69%, a decrease of 0.3% compared to May. Or down 1.64% from the all-time high in March. Linux dropped while macOS was up by 0.05% to 2.21% and WInmdows increased by 0.25% to 94.1%.

For what it's worth, in the June survey, Simplified Chinese use shot up by 2.34% to 24.19% of all Steam users. Usually when there is a big increase to the Chinese Steam user-base it correlates to decreased Linux usage.

SteamOS continues to account for around 23% of all Linux gamers.

AMD CPU usage among Linux gamers came in at just under 67%. The Steam Deck and Steam Machine are powered by an AMD custom SoC and AMD CPUs being popular in general with Linux gamers/enthusiasts in part for the company's open-source reputation.
