Valve today finally revealed pricing on their SteamOS Linux-powered Steam Machine living room PC. Given the ongoing RAM and storage pricing pressure, the Steam Machine pricing comes in at the high-end.

This 6-inch AMD/Linux-powered cube for Steam gaming starts out at $1049 USD for the 512GB model (or $1,128 if including a Steam Controller) or goes up top $1,349 USD for the 2TB model or $1,428 for their top-end configuration that includes the Steam Controller. As a reminder, the Steam Machine relies on a semi-custom AMD Zen 4 APU with 6 cores / 12 threads, RDNA3 28 CU graphics, and 16GB of DDR5 system memory and 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM.

Valve is promoting the Steam Machine as six times more powerful than the Steam Deck, capable of 4K gaming at 60 FPS with FSR, and all the other typical PC gaming / game console features.

Valve is using a randomized reservation process for the Steam Machine to cope with the expected demand while having limited inventory. Starting on 25 June there will a one-time randomization of the pre-order queue.
