For those looking for open-source food nutrition software, GNU's GNUtrition has seen its first new release in 14 years.
GNUtrition 0.33 was released as the first update since 2012 for this nutrition analysis software based on data sourced from the USDA Food and Nutrient Database for Dietary Studies. The data source is now different due to the Nutrient Database of Standard Reference having been sunset during the more than a decade between this GNU software saw a new release.

There are a lot of technical changes given the significant time lapse since the prior release. GNUtrition has now been rewritten in plain C code to replace the prior version written in Python 2. GNUtrition also now uses a GTK3 UI to replace its prior usage of GTK2.
