Following thr 3mdeb consulting firm's recent release of [1]their Dasharo build of Coreboot and AMD openSIL for the Gigabyte MZ33-ARI1 EPYC 9005 series motherboard, the same engineers continue working on their port of Coreboot and the openSIL CPU silicon initialization library to a Ryzen 9000 series consumer motherboard.
Concurrent to their Gigabyte MZ33-ARI1 port, 3mdeb engineers have been bringing their Dasharo flavor of Coreboot and openSIL to the MSI PRO B850-P WiFi. Similar to the Gigabyte EPYC motherboard port, this is done independent of the motherboard vendors themselves and relying on the open-source AMD openSIL prototype code, Coreboot, and 3mdeb's engineering expertise.
If this is your first time learning about 3mdeb's efforts for this MSI Ryzen motherboard, see [2]MSI PRO B850-P WiFi: A Special AMD Ryzen AM5 Motherboard For Linux / Open-Source Enthusiasts .
In their lengthy write-up today they outlined getting graphics initialization working, various openSIL adjustments around the AM5 specific code, desktop-specific ACPI tables, and more. With this latest development update, they are now able to boot their open-source firmware with a working display on this MSI desktop motherboard. A big caveat though that currently the AMDGPU kernel graphics driver is disabled via nomodeset due to known issues they will be addressing.

My MSI PRO B850-P WiFi setup is ready and waiting for this open-source firmware solution to reach daily use status this year.
