Ubuntu Touch 24.04-1.3 is out this week as the latest maintenance release for this tablet/smartphone-focused Ubuntu distribution.

Ubuntu Touch 24.04-1.3 improves handling of desktop apps, which now includes the ability to launch X11 apps outside of the Lomiri environment. In particular, it should help with launching GUI apps from the likes of OpenStore and Snapz0r. There is also a fix for launching GTK4-based apps with this Ubuntu Touch update.

This maintenance release also improves handling of docks with input devices, fixes playback of AMR voice messages via MMS, fixing the scaling factor for certain applications, addresses the shutdown process hanging on some devices, and various other bug fixes and security updates.

More details on the Ubuntu Touch 24.04-1.3 release is available via [1]UBports.com .

The astronomer Francesco Sizi, a contemporary of Galileo, argues that
Jupiter can have no satellites:

There are seven windows in the head, two nostrils, two ears, two
eyes, and a mouth; so in the heavens there are two favorable stars, two
unpropitious, two luminaries, and Mercury alone undecided and indifferent.
From which and many other similar phenomena of nature such as the seven
metals, etc., which it were tedious to enumerate, we gather that the number
of planets is necessarily seven. [...]
Moreover, the satellites are invisible to the naked eye and
therefore can have no influence on the earth and therefore would be useless
and therefore do not exist.
