Sovereign Tech Agency Launches New Initiative To Help Open Standards

([Free Software] 2 Hours Ago Sovereign Tech Standards)

Germany's [1]Sovereign Tech Agency (Sovereign Tech Fund) has provided critical financial resources to open-source software projects and maintainers the past several years. This has proven to be an incredible effort and today they announced their newest initiative as the Sovereign Tech Standards.

Sovereign Tech Standards aims to support open-source maintainers working on open standards and improving interoperability. Sovereign Tech Standards covers standards via the IETF, W3C, and ISO.

Surprisingly and sadly left out of the mix is The Khronos Group standards that would then provide assistance to those working on open standards like Vulkan, SPIR-V, and OpenCL but at least IETC / W3C / ISO standards are covered.

Sovereign Tech Standards will provide €4800 to €5200 fixed monthly payments to chosen maintainers/developers working on implementing open standards.

Those wishing to learn more about the Sovereign Tech Standards can do so via the announcement today on [2]Sovereign.Tech .
