GIMP 3.2 Released With Many Improvements

([Free Software] 4 Hours Ago GIMP 3.2)

Just under one year since the long-awaited [1]GIMP 3.0 release, GIMP 3.2 is out today as the first feature release building off the GIMP 3.0 foundation.

GIMP 3.2 brings new non-destructive layers support, an improved MyPaint Brush tool, a new "Overwrite" paint mode, SVG export support, various UI/UX improvements, and a lot of other polishing and enhancements to this leading open-source alternative to Adobe Photoshop.

Kudos to the GIMP developers on their goal for releasing less than one year after GIMP 3.0 on a more expedited timeline than the long-in-development GIMP 3.0 that saw porting from the GTK2 to GTK3 toolkit and other changes. Overall GIMP 3.2 is a nice incremental step forward for this popular Linux desktop program for graphics/image-related tasks.

GIMP 3.2 downloads and more details on this updated image manipulation / graphics program via [2]GIMP.org .

When the Apple IIc was introduced, the informative copy led off with a couple
of asterisked sentences:

It weighs less than 8 pounds.*
And costs less than $1,300.**

In tiny type were these "fuller explanations":

* Don't asterisks make you suspicious as all get out? Well, all
this means is that the IIc alone weights 7.5 pounds. The power
pack, monitor, an extra disk drive, a printer and several bricks
will make the IIc weigh more. Our lawyers were concerned that you
might not be able to figure this out for yourself.

** The FTC is concerned about price fixing. You can pay more if
you really want to. Or less.
