GIMP 3.2 RC3 Released In Preparation For The Stable GIMP 3.2

Ahead of the stable [1]GIMP 3.2 release hopefully happening soon, GIMP 3.2 RC3 was released this evening for testing.

GIMP 3.2 has been [2]aiming to release within one year of GIMP 3.0 . With [3]GIMP 3.0 having released in mid-March , the stable GIMP 3.2 will hopefully be out around this time if all goes well.

Among the last minute changes to find with GIMP 3.2 RC3 include:

- Better handling of layers to avoid accidentally altering the layers destructively.

- Filters like levels, curves, equalize, and white balance now use linear precision as part of the work to improve GIMP's color correctness.

- The flip tool can now be controlled via arrow keys as can the shear tool now too.

- The crop tool now automatically adds transparency to a layer if you set it to fill with transparency and make a crop that's larger than the current layer.

- Initial support for using the Global Menu with the Flatpak build of GIMP.

- Improved support for importing Luminance / Chroma OpenEXR images.

- GIMP's AppImage has been fixed to work again on AArch64.

- Various bug fixes and other enhancements.
